Buffalo Bills podcast: Breaking down the Marcell Dareus suspension and other questions

“I’m going to come back and do the best that I can”, said Dareus. We will definitely be better than we were a year ago, in my opinion.

Dareus’ suspension represents another blow to a defense that has already been thinned by injury. MI defensive end Shelton Johnson, who signed with the Wolverines in 2015 but did not play in any games last season, and wide receiver Ahmir Mitchell, who was part of this year year’s signing class, have been suspended, according to coach Jim Harbaugh .

Dareus, who will be eligible to rejoin the team October 3 after Buffalo plays at New England, becomes Buffalo’s second player to earn a four-game suspension to open this season after backup running back Karlos Williams was banned last month for the first four games of 2016 for violating the substance abuse policy. The reason for the suspension was not necessarily for testing positive for a banned substance, but Dareus missed a drug test that he was supposed to have.

“I really don’t have nothing much to say”. “Words doesn’t mean anything now”. “It’s all action. And that’s all I’m going to do. And I believe that moving forward this young man will learn from this experience and become a better person for it”. I just apologize to my team and my family. “I embarrassed my kids, and who I am and who I’m working to be”.

Darius, a two-time Pro Bowler who signed a six-year, $100 million contract extension last September, previously was suspended for the first game of last season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy, related to his 2014 arrest in Alabama for criminal possession of a controlled substance. “As is everybody in this organization”. Every teammate from top to bottom. I’m pretty sure he addressed it and released a statement of how selfish the act was.

Dareus said he found out about the suspension after Saturday’s preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts.

If Lawson’s suspension goes through, the Bills would have to pay a $250,000 fine for having three players suspended in the same year as per the NFL’s remittance policy.

Lawson adamantly denied the report Wednesday, saying his girlfriend texted him about it Tuesday and that Lawson immediately contacted the National Football League to inquire about the report. He said Wednesday that he that has yet to hear back from the league.

“It came out of nowhere”, Lawson said of Tuesday’s report. “There’s going to be people that will never give him the benefit of the doubt anymore”, Ryan said. While Washington has not been a part of the Bills all that long, the rookie lineman knows that mistakes happen, even to some of the best of guys.
