West Lakes Academy celebrates outstanding A Level results
“The most important thing about these results however is that they have provided a pathway not only for our students to further their education as far afield as Oxford or Edinburgh but to also begin Higher and Advanced level Apprenticeships within the local area and to begin to return the benefit of their studies to the local area and industries”.

Chemistry, Biology and Physics all recorded well over 60% A* to B grades, as did Design, Drama, English Literature, Law and Photography.
The Hessle academy has recorded a 100 per cent pass rate across A-level subjects.

Principal Kim Clifford said: “These are the results you would expect from an outstanding Sixth Form College, I am delighted that all the big STEM subjects shone and that we are not only able to offer a great choice but also quality across our provision”.
“The overwhelming majority of students have secured their first choice university place and, with six out of 10 of all grades at B or above, this represents an exceptional performance by our students”.
“The 99.5% pass rate is a school record, with students achieving 20% above national expectations for progress”.
The results this year build on the achievements of last year as Etone Sixth Form continues to move from strength to strength.
Numbers achieving the highest possible grades increased from past year, with 9 per cent of grades at A* and 74 per cent at A*-B.
“Students have done well across the board, with many students achieving top grades”.
“55% of grades were A*-B and almost nine out of ten grades were C or above”.
13 out of 14 subjects achieved 100 per cent pass rate and the average grade students achieved was a grade C which is further improvement on a year ago.
