The team took the field Friday but their debut was originally scheduled for August 7 in the Hall of Fame game, which was canceled minutes before kickoff due to problems with paint used on parts of the artificial turf.

There will be a refund issued to all ticket holders of the cancelled Hall of Fame game between the Green Bay Packers and the Colts.

The hall initially agreed to refund the original purchaser of the ticket at face value but Michael Avenatti, the attorney representing the fans, said ticket price refunds aren’t enough.

At least four fans have filed a lawsuit against the National Football League and the hall over the canceled game, saying an initial offer to refund only ticket prices was too little. The annual Hall of Fame game takes place in Canton on Sunday night, capping a weekend of Hall of Fame induction celebrations.

“We take full responsibility for what occurred at the game”, he said in a statement. “We sincerely regret disappointing fans but we believe that cancelling the game was the right thing to do”, said Pro Football Hall of Fame President David Baker.

The hall of fame says it also will offer affected fans four tickets to its museum. We are doing what is right for our fans.

But – as noted on the Hall’s webpage: “If you accept the Reimbursement Plan the HOF has extended to you, you will be releasing all of the claims asserted in the lawsuit and will not be permitted to participate in any way or receive anything that might be obtained in the lawsuit”.
