Wrestler Sakshi to get Rs 2.5 crore from Haryana government
“Congress President Smt Sonia Gandhi has congratulated Sakshi Malik on winning the Bronze Medal at the Rio Olympics”.

“I have been receiving so many calls on my mobile phones for congratulatory messages ever since my daughter won the medal at Rio Olympic games”, said Sudesh Malik, mother of Sakshi as the family was busy in distributing candies to everyone who came to congratulate the wrestler’s family. “Thank U (Whole India is a witness to the fact that it’s always the nation’s women who come on top whenever there’s a difficulty)”.
Malik, on Wednesday, became only the fourth woman from india to win a medal at the Olympic games when she defeated Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan for bronze in the 58 kg category.
The employers of Sakshi, the Railway Ministry, will give Rs. 60 lakh to her. Sakshi is also eligible for Rs. 20 lakh award by the Indian Olympics Association for winning the bronze medal. Find us on Facebook too!
Vij said that the Haryana government would honour Sakshi Malik with a cash award of Rs 2.5 crore as per its sports policy.
