Donald Trump announces changes to campaign staff
Stephen Bannon, executive chairman of Breitbart website, was named CEO, while Kellyanne Conway, who has been an adviser, will take on the role of campaign manager, the Trump campaign said.

Conway has recently appeared on many news programs on behalf of the Trump campaign and recently told Time she thinks Trump will be better for American women than Hillary Clinton. The statement from the Trump campaign said Manafort would remain as campaign chairman and chief strategist.
The campaign’s official announcement on the new hires described Bannon’s CEO role as “a new position created to bolster the business-like approach of Mr. Trump’s campaign”.
While polls have shown Clinton building a lead following the Philadelphia convention, Democrats are fearful that a depressed voter turnout might diminish support among the minority, young and female voters who powered Obama to two victories. Now that Bannon has been elevated by the Trump campaign, Shapiro has written a Daily Wire piece describing his history with his old employer, as well as all the negative reasons why he fits right in with his new home. But Manafort won’t have the same authority he once did: According to anonymous aides who spoke with The Washington Post, Wednesday’s changes leave Manafort with a “diminished” role, “due to Trump’s unhappiness and restlessness in recent weeks over his drop in the polls and reports over lagging organization in several key states”.
Trump said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal Tuesday night, “I want to win”. “That’s why I’m bringing on fantastic people who know how to win and love to win”.
Lewandowski had also attracted distracting controversy following a run-in with a Breitbart News reporter at a Trump rally who accused him of roughly grabbing her arm. During Wednesday’s call, Mook said he expects the Trump campaign to now “double-down” on promoting such conspiracy theories.
She also cautioned her supporters not to assume she is going to win.
“So I had a long lovely speech written and I read it and I said, “Boy, this is boring – this is not what we want to talk about”.
The Trump camp also announced it will begin its airing its first TV ads of the general election campaign.
On Wednesday morning, Lewandowski weighed in on the changes, praising Conway’s long experience in Republican campaigns and long-standing ties to Trump.
Keep the Promise 1 released two ads attacking Trump during the primaries in January, one hitting him on “Trumpcare” and his health care plans and another using old footage of him declaring himself to be very pro-abortion rights.
Critics say the development provides more evidence Trump represents a threat to national security.
Manafort spoke of a pivot in tone and style in his early days on the campaign, but all along Trump has insisted there will be no change.

Donald Trump has made it clear he pays careful attention to polls, television ratings and vote totals. “He can hire and fire anyone he wants from his campaign, they can make him read new words from a teleprompter, but he is still the same man”, she said on the stump in Cleveland.
