A pilot was treated for minor injuries this morning after an aircraft crashed near Nellis Air Force Base following a training exercise, authorities said.

The pilot, whose name was not immediately available to the public, was taken to Nellis AFB Hospital as a precaution.
Tech. Sgt. Anthony Kuhn says the pilot ejected from a civilian contractor aircraft and was receiving medical treatment.
Poteet said the six-month weapons school is akin to “getting your Ph.D in flying”. There were no munitions on board the Vietnam War-era plane.
The jet in Thursday’s crash was a two-seater and had no ammunition on board.
Poteet described the company’s pilots as former military airmen, saying the person involved in the crash is “one of the most experienced” at Draken International.
According to CNN, the downed aircraft is an A-4 Skyhawk that was part of “adversary” training at Nellis.
The 57th Wing provides advanced aerospace training to worldwide air forces and manages all flying operations at Nellis Air Force Base.
The wing supports the Air Force warfare test-and-evaluation activities, runs a graduate-level U.S. Air Force weapons school and serves as home to the Thunderbirds air demonstration team.

The crash occurred near North Sloan Lane and East Ann Road, north of Nellis Air Force Base, police said.
