The Donner Party is a famous group of American pioneers who set out for California in 1846 and spent the winter snowbound in the Sierra Nevada. Slightly more than half of them would arrive the following year after facing harrowing conditions that forced members of the party to eat their own dead. While Katsu gets to work on writing the book, which will be published by G.P. Putnams Son and was created by content developer Paper Lantern Lit, Fox is already teaming with Ridley Scott’s production company Scott Free to develop the movie. He made his feature directorial debut on the upcoming science-fiction film “Morgan”, which Fox is releasing September 2 with Kate Mara, Anya Taylor-Joy, Toby Jones, Rose Leslie, Boyd Holbrook, Michelle Yeoh, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Paul Giamatti starring.
