Trump blasts nation-building but wants Iraq oil
It will be the latest version of a policy that began with Trump’s unprecedented call to temporarily bar foreign Muslims from entering the country – a religious test that was criticized across party lines as un-American.

“Those who do not believe in our Constitution, or who support bigotry and hatred, will not be admitted for immigration into our country”, Trump said. He vowed to ban visas to countries with suspect security practices and deny access to anyone that does not embrace what trump described as tolerant American society.
“In the Cold War, we had an ideological screening test”. He called for parents, teachers and others to promote “American culture” and encouraged “assimilation”. But what he often says hurts us.
“I think people understand in that neighborhood and Sherman Park and in Milwaukee, they want law enforcement to step up and protect them”, he said, adding that “statements like that” from Clinton and a “lack of leadership” from President Barack Obama “only inflame the situation”.
Trump hired Stephen Bannon, the executive chairman of conservative website Breitbart News LLC, as his campaign’s chief executive and Kellyanne Conway as campaign manager. She said Trump will take his case for change “right to Hillary Clinton: Hey, you’ve been in public office for decades”. This is a straw man, because no one is calling for nation building in the American body politic, including Hillary Clinton, who in her own campaign appearance in Scranton, Pennsylvania, specifically said that American ground troops were “off the table” in Syria.
The Democratic presidential nominee came to West Philadelphia High School Tuesday for a voter registration rally, one day after Vice President Joe Biden took the stage with the former US secretary of state in Scranton.
“The leader of Hezbollah, a direct threat to our ally Israel, repeated that claim”, Biden said. Perhaps outflanking liberals to the left, Trump said the fight against Islamic radicalism will help gays, women and other minorities. He questioned her temperament, moral character, mental and physical stamina to take on ISIS. That would have prevented the Islamic State from taking selling oil itself to fund its terrorism, Trump said.
The Republican candidate called for “foreign policy realism” in his speech at Youngstown State, positing that the USA should take on as an ally any country that also wants to defeat “radical Islamic terrorism”, regardless of other disagreements.
In a grab bag of promises to battle the Islamic State organization together with Russian Federation and anyone else who wants to join the fight, the Republican nominee underlined the need to improve intelligence and shut down militant propaganda, recruiting and financing. But they have been unable to reach an agreement on which militant groups could be targeted.
He claims that the current U.S. strategy of nation-building and regime change is a failure and has created a vacuum that allows terrorists to grow and thrive. Every lethal terrorist attack in the United States since 9/11 has been carried out by an American citizen or a legal permanent resident, not by recent immigrants or by refugees. “I call it ‘extreme vetting.’ I call it extreme – extreme – vetting”. Trump could have been a Kempian figure, advocating for a better path away from the last eight years.

“We will have to temporarily suspend immigration from some of the most unsafe and volatile regions of the world that have a history of exporting terrorism”.
