Firefighter shot in leg on Staten Island
First responders have been called to a scene on Staten Island this morning after a city firefighter was shot.

It happened shortly before 6 a.m. Friday at a 2-story apartment house on Destiny Court in the Mariners Harbor section.
When fire crews responded, the man started shooting, hitting a firefighter in the leg.
The suspect fired several shots and wounded the firefighter as multiple law-enforcement agencies surrounded the home.
The man barricaded himself inside the home, and authorities were working to reach him, police said.

An enormous number of emergency officials are on the scene – including heavily-armed Emergency Service Unit cops, Haz-Mat officers and about 60 firefighters.
