The photos are from the wedding reception held at Buckingham Palace after Charles and Diana’s famous ceremony at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

The photos up for auction were the ones that didn’t make the cut in the official wedding album presented to the Royal Family – shot from behind, Diana with Charles by her side or the newlyweds’ view from the balcony of Buckingham Palace, greeting thousands of well-wishers.
Three of the classic black and white photos shared by RR Auctions show Queen Elizabeth II walking beside the late Princess Diana, who is seen carrying her youngest bridesmaid, the then five-year old Clementine Hambro.
RR Auction spokesman Bobby Livingston said: “These never-before-seen photographs capture the candid and unrehearsed moments of the fairytale wedding”.
The scene, striking in its closeness and realism, is one of twelve already unpublished photographs of the 1981 imperial wedding that will be sold at closeout one month from now. “In the States there is still great interest in Princess Diana“.
The starting bid for the auction, which kicks off on 17th September, is just $300, but we suspect that the final hammer will fall at a slightly higher price, don’t you?
They originate from the collection of an assistant to English photographer Patrick Lichfield. There was an image of Queen Elizabeth watching the giant crowd outside Buckingham Palace.
Dianas royal wedding gown, designed by David Emanuel, was one of the most memorable in history.
The photographs – seven black-and-white and five colour prints – come from the collection of an assistant to photographer Patrick, later Lord, Lichfield.

Happy couple… Princess Diana and Prince Charles after they were married. Royal correspondent Roya Nikkah said that they are not only previously unseen but they showed Princess Diana who was still very young and not that savvy in front of the camera. She was 36. Her descendants include two grandchildren, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, born to her son Prince William and his wife, Duchess Kate of Cambridge.
