Rarely do presidential campaigns undergo such a level of tumult at such a stage of the general election.
She said voters should stop waiting for candidate Trump to reinvent himself.
“Of course, we have no idea what tax rate he pays, because, unlike everybody else who’s run for president in the last four or five decades, he refuses to release his tax returns, so the American people can’t really judge”, she said.
Trump’s standing in the White House race plummeted throughout the summer and he now trails Clinton in preference polls of most key battleground states.
Trump on Wednesday announced a staff overhaul at his campaign’s highest levels, the second shake-up in the past two months.
On free trade, an issue area that has been front and center in the 2016 campaign, Trump supporters are broadly negative: They see trade agreements as having been bad for the USA and their own family’s finances and think the Trans-Pacific Partnership would be a bad thing for the country. They can make him read new words from a teleprompter.
“I’d love to see Mr. Trump use more money on advertisements specifically targeted toward millennials”, she suggested.
Joseph Clemens, president of Wisdom Wealth Strategies, which is set up as an LLC, said that he favors lowering corporate rates but has misgivings about reducing them to 15% for pass-throughs. Party loyalists have grown increasingly frustrated with Trump’s inability to stay focused on Democrat Hillary Clinton amid a series of self-created distractions.
Clinton also leads big among her core base-Millennials 18-29 years old (36%-26%), 18-24 year olds (59%-22%), Hispanics (51%-18%) and African Americans (81%-8%), which is not a big surprise. And that’s just one of several groups helping her. Trump also promoted senior adviser Kellyanne Conway to campaign manager.
DeRay McKesson, a leader of the Black Lives Matter movement who had expressed skepticism of Clinton’s candidacy in the past, tweeted that Trump’s statement that immigrants take away jobs from the black community was “racist”.
Now, months later, Trump’s support among black voters is at historic lows, hovering around 1%, according to recent surveys.
What’s telling about these results isn’t so much that Clinton is beating Trump where she needs to beat him – most polls, especially lately, show her with sizeable leads.
