Guccifer 2.0 hacker leaks more Democratic Party documents

The information released by the hacker persona known as “Guccifer 2.0” did not come from the DNC this time, but another party campaign arm, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which coordinates races in the House of Representatives. Included in the spreadsheet were the personal information of members of the House Intelligence, Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees.

While authorities were aware of the earlier attack on the DCCC, this is the first time that Guccifer 2.0 is releasing documents explicitly proving their responsibility, and released a gleeful statement online.

Russians are suspected in the recent cyber attacks against Democrats that have targeted databases maintained by the DCCC and the Democratic National Committee. Pelosi referred to that breach as an “electronic Watergate”. However, we are investigating the issue soon we will find out who Is behind all this. But the claims made by the “Guccifer 2.0” individual were viewed with a dose of skepticism by experts who have analyzed the events.

The ramifications of the DNC hack are still being felt in the political party, especially after the release of 20,000 internal emails by whistleblowing outfit WikiLeaks last month which appeared to suggest DNC officials clearly favoured Hillary Clinton over rival candidate Sanders.

The password leak is especially worrying, as according to Guccifer 2.0, they were in a document that was sent via email to a number of DCCC officials, along with other attachments that were obtained by the hacker.

United States law enforcement agencies have linked the DCCC and DNC hacks to the Russian government.

President Barack Obama said in late July that Russian Federation may have been behind the leak of the hacked Democratic National Committee emails.

The release of personal contact information seems relatively harmless, but lawmakers are concerned that this hack may mean their personal emails could be accessed.

The DCCC said a cyber security company it hired after the breach concluded two Russian security agencies were behind the that hack. As you see, I was not wasting my time! “It was even easier than in the case of the DNC breach”, the hacker wrote. Those emails caused the DNC’s chair, Rep.
