Trump actually regrets some of his campaign rhetoric
“Sometimes in the heat of debate you don’t choose the right words or you say the wrong thing, I have done that and believe it or not, I regret it”, Trump said.

Trump started his speech by recognizing the devastation in Louisiana, “I hope everyone in LA knows that our country is praying for them and standing with them in these hard hours”, Trump said. I have done that, and I regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain. It was a remarkable departure for the candidate who nearly never expresses regret out on the campaign trail, unless in jest.
Trump did not specify which comments he was expressing regret for, though in the past year he has notably insulted Sen.
Yet Trump has struggled badly in recent weeks to offer voters a consistent message, overshadowing formal policy speeches with a steady stream of self-created controversies, including a public feud with an American Muslim family whose son was killed while serving in the US military in Iraq.
Trump cast himself as an honest problem-solver in a world of deceitful and greedy politicians. Trump said he “absolutely” had regrets, “but if I didn’t conduct myself in the way I’ve done it, I don’t think I would have been successful actually”.
His speech Thursday came days after a campaign shake-up which brought on Stephen Bannon, formerly of the right-wing website Breitbart News, to be campaign CEO.
Conway said the more disciplined approach by Trump, who has never held elective office, would not mean jettisoning his more off-the-cuff and unpredictable style. “But that apology tonight is simply a well-written phrase until he tells us which of his many offensive, bullying and divisive comments he regrets_and changes his tune altogether”, she said. “One lie after another, and getting worse each passing day”. “Our prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones, and we send them our deepest condolences”. Trump and his vice presidential candidate Mike Pence will travel to Louisiana on Friday.
Also, the poll found that large shares of voters worry that there is distinct possibility that if elected, either nominee would make a serious mistake that would damage the country, with 55 per cent registered voters saying that Trump has a “big chance” and 44 per cent saying the same about Clinton. The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll showed that Trump has a 2 percent approval rating among those voters. Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party have taken African-American votes totally for granted.
