Buffon: Hart will bounce back from Man City benching

Hart’s future has been in doubt since Saturday after he was overlooked by Guardiola for City’s 2-1 opening day victory over Sunderland, with Willy Caballero preferred between the sticks.

Hart, 29, has been at the Etihad Stadium for ten years now having signed from Shrewsbury Town back in the summer of 2006, and he’s racked up nearly 350 appearances for the club having become City’s undoubted first-choice goalkeeper since the start of the 2010/11 campaign.

‘The ability is there, we know he has that, but just as importantly he has character – and that is one of the most important qualities you can have as a goalkeeper, ‘ he added. Hart believes the new City manager never had him in his plans before arriving at the Etihad.

Hart’s relationship with Guardiola has broken down and the pair have not got on since pre-season training started.

That would push Hart down to third choice, and the Daily Mail now claim that he’s keen to join Premier League rivals Everton on loan before the transfer deadline at the end of the month.

He wants to think long and hard about what move would be the best for him and his young family.

Etihad chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak values Hart in the £25m bracket, but would accept closer to £20m if it meant getting him off the books. It is not the club I left. Fraser Forster and Jack Butland are both vying to take over if he fails to impress the new England boss.

Farhad Moshiri, the new major shareholder at Goodison Park, has promised Koeman major funds to spend and would be willing to meet Hart’s wages of £100,000-a-week.

Joe Hart has been left out by Manchester City so far this season
