These Are Samsung’s Best Phones Right Now

The S6 edge + carries a 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED dual curve display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

The Galaxy S6 was lauded by critics when it was released earlier this year, and the curved screen of the Edge version allowed users to see brief notifications on the side of the phone. The Note 5 also has the S Pen that’s apparently much better than previous pens, and you can even write notes even when the screen is completely turned off. “Another feature added to the new generation of Note5 and S6 Edge+ is ‘Live Broadcast” under which videos can be shared in real time after connecting to YouTube.

However, in an unexpected twist, only the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be coming to the UK initially, with the Galaxy Note 5 restricted to North America and key Asian markets at launch. The Note 5 embodies its writing utensil in a slot located on the lower right.

While today’s announcements focused on the launch of the service in Samsung’s home market of Korea and the USA, Samsung Australia has confirmed that they are working to bring Samsung Pay to Australia in 2016. Live Broadcast is available on both the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5.

The S6 Edge+ also comes with a free six month subscription with Google Play Music, and so do the S6 and the S6 Edge.

Samsung will be hoping its new devices will reignite consumer interest which is being taken by rivals such as Apple and Chinese manufacturers like Huawei and Xiaomi. The screen will still seem smaller than the other phones in the Galaxy Note range, because of the sloping edges. It is running on a 2.1 GHz Octa-core Exynos 7420 processor, 4GB RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, NFC and a 3,000mAh battery.

To show you exactly that, we’ve grabbed three official camera samples from the device, and shot three more ourselves. The new flagship smartphones will be available for purchase August 21, though preorders start Thursday in the US.
