Samsung: Next Gear VR coming soon with ‘surprise’ price point

Samsung Electronics unveiled a new Galaxy Note phablet and a larger version of its curved-screen S6 edge smartphone on Thursday, marking a fresh bid by the South Korean tech giant to revive momentum in its handset business. AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile US and US Cellular all confirmed they will carry the phones, as will the retailers Best Buy, Amazon, CostCo, Sam’s Club, Target and select Walmart stores.

Samsung has introduced sleeker phones and they are still banking on bigger screens to boost their sales. When you’re not using the keyboard you can clip it to the backside of the phone. There are still lines between phones, phablets and tablets, but the marketplace is being sliced up like a pie.

All in all then it could be the phablet to beat and you’ll be able to get your hands on it from the 4 of September, but with early prices pegging it at £699.99 for the 32GB version it’s not going to be cheap.
