1.0-litre Kwid will deliver 23.01 kmpl; specs revealed
The company’s entry-level hatchback is being prepared for an August 22 launch.

This new, more powerful engine will provide a fuel efficiency figure on 23.01kmpl in comparison to 25.17kmpl promised by the 0.8-litre engine.
French carmaker’s Indian arm, Renault India is all set to introduce the higher powered version of its highly successful model, in the form of the Renault Kwid 1.0L.
The Kwid is now powered by a 799cc petrol engine producing 54PS of power at 5,678rpm and 72Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. Renault will also add an AMT variant of the Kwid at a later date.
Features on offer are – Driver airbag (optional), Touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, USB, Bluetooth audio streaming and aux-in, Front speakers (2), 12V power socket, Remote keyless entry with central locking, Front power windows, Dual-tone dashboard, Foldable backrest, Rear parcel tray, Front fog lamps, Passenger side ORVMs, Body-colour bumpers. The AMT-gearbox-equipped version is likely to join at a later stage.
The Renault KWID 1.0-litre price is expected to start from INR 3.5lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to INR 4.5lakh (ex-showroom).
The 1.0-litre option will only be offered in the top-of-the-line RXT and RXT (O) variants and the auto will come equipped with features like a touch screen infotainment system with navigation, dual tone dashboard, fog lamps and will also include different and chunkier outside mirrors as well as a “1.0” badge on the side door mouldings.

Bookings for Kwid 1.0 have already started with dealers promising deliveries of the vehicle by October. It will be pitted against the likes of 1.0-litre variants of the Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon.
