Person with handgun reported near Indiana University
Sgt. Pam Gladish of the Bloomington Police Dept. reported that BPD got a call about 5:30 a.m. about an armed robbery at the Village Pantry at 12th Street and Indiana Avenue.

Officials at Indiana University in Bloomington sent an alert to students and staff Friday morning after a man with a gun was spotted near campus. About 40 minutes later, the school issued an all-clear for the campus about 50 miles south of Indianapolis. According to the alert, the subject was spotted near 12th and IN at the Village Pantry. Take safe shelter immediately, close and lock doors.
‘Call 911 if you have information about the armed person.
The alert also says those not on campus should stay away.

A second alert was posted to their website later which said, “IU Bloomington Update: Investigation is on-going. We’re just telling people to remain vigilant and if they see something to say something”, IU spokeswoman Margie Smith-Simmons said around noon Friday.
