Niantic Taking A Firm Stance With Pokemon Go Cheaters, Bans Incoming

While it is now unknown how the developer is able to detect unauthorized modification or prohibited use of Global Positioning System spoofing, Niantic has made alterations to its terms and conditions for the game to enable their right to permanently lock down accounts that attempt to cheat at catching Pokemon – in an effort to keep the game on a level playing field.
Emails are being sent out informing Pokemon Go players that they have been banned from the game, but it seems that not all of these emails are legitimate.
There are also some gamers who say they have been banned from the app but have not yet received one of these official emails. The Pokemon Go terms of service defines cheating to include “using modified or unofficial software, playing with multiple accounts (one account per player, please), sharing accounts, using tools or techniques to alter or falsify your location, or selling/trading accounts”, all of which can result in a ban.
But what if you feel like you’ve been unfairly banned, or just think you deserve a second chance?

Sadly, the easy way of playing Pokemon GO by using cheats is getting to an end. That’s a whole lot of people that might be banned. The new ban email might have been triggered by app store customers arguing with Google that they did not hear back from Niantic on not being able to log in. Prior to this, there were also reports that some developers of bots had received cease and desist notices. Users who have experienced just how long it has taken Niantic to fix Pokemon GO’s broken tracking tool, a core feature of the game that’s failure to work properly spawned numerous first third-party Pokemon GO apps, likely won’t be holding their breath over a quick resolution.
