Riyad Mahrez Happy To Continue Leicester City ‘Adventure’

The Foxes suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat by promoted side Hull City at KC Stadium last weekend despite Mahrez scoring from the penalty spot in the second half.

Riyad Mahrez signed his new contract at Leicester City because he wants to “continue the adventure” with the Premier League champions. Perhaps the reason Mahrez has now signed a contract extension is because nobody did. However, in the end, last season’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year penned a new four-year deal.

‘Our football is a lot of energy, so if we keep all the players, all the mentality, I think we can do some good things this year as well.

LEICESTER assistant manager Craig Shakespeare has been appointed to a part-time role with the Sam Allardyce’s England coaching staff.

So was it the decision of Arsenal and Arsene Wenger not to go for Mahrez instead of it being the other way around? “It’s not my money”.

Ranieri said this week that he has told Mahrez that he expects even more this season, especially with City set to embark on their maiden Champions League campaign.

Simpson and Fuchs have pivotal roles to play against Arsenal on Saturday, while the return of Robert Huth from suspension should make a noticeable difference.

Aaron Ramsey, Alex Iwobi and Gabriel are all out injured for Arsenal but Wenger has said Mesut Ozil, Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud are in contention.

Jack Wilshere (knee), Per Mertesacker (knee), Danny Welbeck (knee) and Carl Jenkinson (knee) are unavailable. That said, there will be absolutely no shame in losing to Arsenal – a bogey side City still haven’t beaten in the Premier League since Wenger took charge in 1996. If you look at his numbers, certainly he was in the top three in the league past year.

Theo Walcott was among the scorers in a 5-2 away win over Leicester last September. “It’s the first time that we play in the Champions League, so it’s fantastic”. The Foxes now have to host Arsenal who beat them twice past year and it won’t be an easy task.

Arsenal can’t defend, we know that, so I’m going for a score draw.
