Cops reunite missing dog with owner in dramatic water rescue
NYPD Special Ops tweeted an image showing a post from the Lost and Found Pets in Brooklyn, New York Facebook group, which had asked for help in finding Chase. Police reunited Chase and his owner later on Friday.

As CBS2’s Jessica Layton reported, the unusually playful pup was not up to his usual tricks Friday night, after pulling a stunt that had his owners anxious sick.
‘We were in a cabin in Pennsylvania and he jumped from the deck and went into the lake.
Chase’s owner said he’s very fond of the water..
Miguel Vazquez and his brother Francisco think the dog got spooked by storms the night before, squeezed through a fence, and took off.
“I don’t know how he got there”, he said.
It was a ruff morning for Chase, a one-and-a-half year old German Shepard rescued from the waters of Gravesend Bay by police divers with the NYPD’s Scuba Unit.
Shortly after tweeting photos of the pup, the NYPD realized the German shepherd matched the description of a lost dog whose information had been posted on the Facebook page Lost and Found Pets in Brooklyn, New York, police said.
Call it a soggy dog story.
Upon arrival, NYPD Scuba Unit’s Detective Markian Kopystianskyj and Police Officer Damien Drisco were deployed from Scuba Launch 8, which was captained by Detective William Devine.
The post said that Chase vanished Thursday morning and was last spotted at Cropsey Avenue and Neptune Avenue.
Chase is exhausted from his adventures, Vazquez said, but is happy to be safe at home with his family.
Of the officers, Francisco Vazquez said, “They don’t get enough credit, honestly”.
“It’s amusing, I named my dog chase because of the cartoon my kids watch about a police dog”, he said.

Chase was pretty skeptical of the police when they brought him ashore.
