This is a great weekend for wrestling with the Ring of Honor show Friday – highlighted by Jay Lethal vs. Adam Cole for the ROH title – along with NXT Takeover on Saturday and then Summer Slam.
· After the WWE World Champion defeated Erick Rowan, Bray Wyatt, who was sitting at ringside in his trademark rocking chair, stared at Rowan’s sheep mask and then left it on the chair before walking to the back. After coming over to WWE, they only clashed once – on a Smackdown episode in 2002, when Orton challenged Lesnar for his world title. Hopefully we see the Intercontinental title take more of a focus on Smackdown, in the weeks following Summerslam. We need more tag teams on SmackDown. Now. I hope that when Anderson and Gallows win the belts, they end up moving on from the New Day. She retains in a thrilling match and gains momentum for a big run.
Continuing to grow as two of the most popular wrestlers on Raw, Enzo and Cass should get the win over two of WWE’s top heels. WWE Superstars will visit children and their families, take pictures, sign autographs and donate action figures for the facilities’ play rooms.
The brand split between Raw and Smackdown LIVE is still in its infancy, but already the competition is heating up. Becky lynch would get a hot tag in, clearing the ring of obstacles and hitting her Beckslpoder to get a near-fall on Natalya.
Roman Reigns got little offense on Brock Lesnar. The trios’ triple-threat match at Wrestlemania was an all time classic and this time around, Sasha Banks will be facing Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Title. Instead of trying to develop parallel feuds in a thin division by pairing teams together to have separate feuds, they instead just throw the entire tag team division in one match. She just might do it again, even if it’s taken longer to get here than expected.
Now we’re getting a one-on-one match up with Sasha heading in as Women’s Champ.
Now, Banks is the champion and this could be an outstanding next chapter in a rivalry that began in NXT.
Anyway, after Cena predictably gets beat down by “the pride of Mexico” before popping up to hit one Attitude Adjustment for the victory, AJ Styles (who was fantastic on commentary as a poor man’s Kevin Owens to David Otunga’s poor man’s Byron Saxton) sneak-attacks The Face That Runs the Place and drops a good promo about.well, something about “your time is up, my time is now”. In the closing moments of that match, Lesnar caught Orton in the middle of a Flying Cross Body and turned it into a neat F5 finisher for the win. However, if Cena wins this match I’ll have a hard time justifying it. Whenever fans seem to have it figured out, they change the script.
Rusev with Lana vs. I see Rusev retaining the U.S. title as he is continuing to return to his Monster Heel days before Wrestlemania 31. This includes big names that won matches as soon as the Battleground PPV. The match itself was good, but Rusev’s character was on-point. Imagine that! So, when the Miz hosts Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler on MizTV and Ziggler tells him to shut his mouth, he doesn’t have to fire back or take matters into his own hands because they’re part of a feud. Where’s Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake when the WWE Universe needs him? At least then, Balor would have a reason to channel the darker side of himself.

Lesnar makes a second appearance on our list but this time we’re thinking about him battling an old foe rather than a new one. There’d be Phenomenal Forearms and Pele kicks from one side and Falcon Arrows and Pedigrees from the other if Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Wrestler of 2015 (Rollins) tackled the publication’s king of 2010 (Styles). Looking for Lesnar to turn the RKO out of nowhere into an F5 and get the win.
