Apple Music posts new Frank Ocean video album

As fans continue to wait impatiently for the release of Frank Ocean’s second studio album, Boys Don’t Cry, there has been great speculation about what has been the cause of the delay.

Almost three weeks on from its launch, the live stream reappeared late on Thursday, this time to the soundtrack of what appeared to be complete songs, leading fans to conclude that Ocean was streaming his much-anticipated album.

The record features contributions by James Blake and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood.

While it isn’t yet confirmed that the stream is pumping out Ocean’s long-awaited new album Boys Don’t Cry, the internet is speculating that that’s exactly what it’s doing.

Pitchfork reports that an Apple Music rep said to ‘keep an eye out this weekend for more from Frank’. Watchers glued to their screens were thrilled to hear snippets of music coming from the room but were disappointed when the artist did not drop the album. Ocean updated his live stream on Thursday with footage of him building a staircase in the same warehouse, accompanied by new music.

Earlier this month, fans were left disappointed when the new release failed to materialise. Rolling Stone reported Ocean’s “Boys Don’t Cry” will be released then.

The release of “Endless” comes as fans await his previously announced album and likely become increasingly familiar with visual albums, thanks to genre frontrunners like Beyoncé.

Exclusive music and video seems to be the bait Apple is using to lure people to the service, which has more than 15 million paying subscribers. At the moment, we don’t know what the name of the album is, but we’ll soon find out as it is set to drop over the next couple of days.
