UPI/CVoter poll: Hillary Clinton maintains steady lead over Donald Trump

Donald Trump doesn’t appear to have any plans to release his tax returns – and Hillary Clinton apparently isn’t going to let up on him.

The Clinton campaign has regularly announced field office openings, and it said there are now more than three dozen across the state.

It’s an issue unlikely to go away: At hearings planned for next month, Republicans in Congress say they’ll ask Federal Bureau of Investigation officials whether those notes indicate she may have lied to lawmakers in response to questions about her handling of classified material. We’ve noted before that Trump’s weakness with Republican voters is why he’s trailing in the polls, but that weakness isn’t evenly distributed.

He also urged caution as Trump’s new team contemplates whether the fiery populism and freewheeling style that won him the Republican nomination will give him a better shot at the White House than uniting his party and rallying moderate voters.

Several recent polls from swing states such as OH and Florida have shown Clinton’s lead over Trump expanding amid a series of self-inflicted controversies for the Republican nominee, including his public battle with the parents of an Army captain killed in Iraq. Clinton leads Trump by an average of 6 percentage points in the 10 most recent post-convention polls. She can overcome it.

Though Trump has called US elections “rigged”, proven cases of in-person voting fraud are incredibly rare in the USA, several comprehensive studies show – perhaps because a perpetrator’s risk of getting caught far outweighs the benefit of adding one vote for a preferred candidate.

Trump described Obama as a president who has been misguided in his foreign policy, while hammering Clinton on her overall record as top US diplomat, highlighting her many perceived missteps while she was secretary of state under Obama.

“She will have a significant challenge in persuading the voters of the country that she is indeed honest and trustworthy”, said Republican pollster Whit Ayres, who worked for GOP primary candidate Marco Rubio’s presidential bid. Trump’s unfavorable ratings are particularly high with young voters and minority voters; 60 percent of those between the ages of 18 and 34 said they have an unfavorable view of the Republican nominee, and 64 percent of minority voters said the same thing.

Customer Matt Kilbane, who works for the school system, has reservations about Clinton, including her connections to Wall Street. On Wednesday afternoon, a story topping the Drudge Report was headlined “MUST SEE: Photos of Hillary Clinton Propped Up on Pillows”.

“You could ask about whether life is better for [specific groups like] women or men, but everyone has multiple considerations when they think about people like them”, Kiley said.

Their goal was to expand public perceptions of Bill Clinton to encompass other, more positive facts, such as his poor upbringing, hard family life, college scholarships and decision to return to Arkansas as a public servant rather than accept a high-paid corporate job.

“Or maybe Clinton has done a great job shifting the campaign away from her weaknesses”, Drutman added in a second tweet.

The campaign, which has not run any TV ads so far in the presidential race, will begin running ads in the Orlando market on Friday.

“Sure, she has had Secret Service protection since she became first lady in 1993 – she needs it”.

In Thursday’s Suffolk University poll, 55 percent of voters said they have an unfavorable view of Donald Trump, while 50 percent said the same of Hillary Clinton.

But in recent weeks, they’ve preferred to focus on the failings of their opponent. “He’s a failed candidate and failing campaign”.

That’s senior adviser David Urban, who told me that like the Clinton campaign, the Trump organization is swarming across the state. Then you get someone the least likely – the problem with the whole Breitbart crew is they have been so tough on Barack Obama that he will go from 1% of the black vote to 0% of the black vote.
