At the end of her run at the Rio Olympics, Simone Biles took home a gold medal for her stunning floor routine, making history as the first American to win four gymnastics golds at a single Olympics.

In response, someone tweeted exactly what we were all thinking: “Zac Efron flew to Rio to surprise Simone Biles and I can’t even get a text back”.
But then, after she and teammate Aly Raisman finished competing on Tuesday, Efron showed up in Rio and surprised the Final Five.
After shaky performance on the balance beam, America has lost their hope to drag five golds for a female gymnast; she came to capture the floor title with 15.966 points. But thankfully, I didn’t skip it, ’cause Zac Efron was in there.
“If you bring him out, I think I’m going to pass out”, Biles told Kotb before laying eyes on her crush. In the video, Biles is receiving another gold medal and notices a bee in her flowers. “I don’t know how Snapchatworks”, Efron says (in a reminder that it has been a decade since he was a Cool Teen) right before he goes in for thekiss. “I was getting nervous myself, but it ended up being so sweet”. And conversely, we know Zac Efron is a huge fan of Biles and the USA women’s gymnastics – he traveled to Rio on Tuesday to personally meet them, and they were understandably ecstatic.

Efron appeared on the Today show on Wednesday and chatted about how excited he was to meet the girls. She leaves these Olympics as the most decorated gymnast with four golds and a bronze. The bemedalled gymnast’s caption on the Instagram photos read: “he kissed me on the cheek just letting y’all know”. Two of Lochte’s teammates were removed from their plane to the US on Wednesday as authorities continue their investigation of the case.
