“Kurt’s my friend”, she told Rose.

She goes on to say that she’s not on Facebook and so doesn’t read his rants, but has asked him to stop posting them because his actions reflect back on both her and the show. Like, he just gets something from going after people, making them mad. “That is not representative of me at all”, she continued. “It’s been really upsetting seeing someone that I care about hurt themselves like this”, she added. People, they want his head; they want to burn him at the stake. She reiterated that he’s not now working for her, saying, “Nobody’s on my staff. There are no writers”.
The comments caused a number of fans to petition Schumer on social media for his resignation from the show, which often tackles issues around sexual assault and rape culture with a feminist bent. Glaser was allegedly banned from the Upright Citizens’ Brigade over the allegations.
Much of Metzger’s ire is aimed at the fact that the UCB conducted an internal investigation and made their decision without going to the police, sparking criticism over his victim-shaming. His post basically perpetuated the myth that women lie about being raped all the time by explaining in great detail and bad jokes that the women accusing the ousted comedian shouldn’t be trusted because they never went to the cops about their alleged assaults.
“She said Metzger was her friend, and he was on her show specifically to bring that “out-there male perspective” into the writers” room. “We butt heads. We get in fights because he infuriates us”. “We don’t want it to just be one-sided”.
Rose asks Schumer if the “real problem” is coming to “a smart understanding of what rape has become”, and she agreed.
“To focus your energy on online trolling, if I did that, I wouldn’t get anything done”, Schumer said. A tweet she wrote distancing herself from Metzger, who has written for and acted in her sketch comedy, then was interpreted that Inside Amy Schumer was kaput.
Evidently, the funny-lady was playing a joke as she addressed fans anxieties Thursday insisting that Inside Amy Schumer “is not cancelled”. He is not a writer on my show.
