Ipsos poll: Clinton leads Trump by eight points

That’s according to an analysis by Deep Root Analytics, a media data firm that works for Republican candidates.

On the flip side, the firm’s analysis projects that 37,000 Republicans in the Springfield metro area may stray from their GOP roots to support Clinton. Meanwhile 55% say Clinton is running her campaign well. There was a spike in the number of illegal immigrants who crossed the southwestern border into the U.S.in April, reaching the highest point in roughly two years.

What’s especially interesting about the Pew numbers is that they indicate the shoe was once on the other foot. Instead, it examined partisan voters who, in most years, would cast reliable party-line ballots. That survey had Johnson at 11%, closer to the 15% required to qualify for the three upcoming presidential debates. Clinton’s record as secretary of state was an unmitigated disaster, with the Islamic State overrunning Syria, Iraq and Libya, and Iran on a pathway to obtain nuclear weapons.

At the Democrats’ convention, meanwhile, optimism was the theme. “It’s really hard to get a pulse on this”. “The answer is everything from a man who questions the citizenship of the first African-American President, courts white supremacists, and has been sued for housing discrimination against communities of colour”, said Hillary for America Director of State Campaigns and Political Engagement Marlon Marshall.

Trump and Clinton supporters differ on the major issues they believe are important for the country.

But overall, the poll shows deep distrust among adults backing the Republican nominee.

“It’s just an unusual circumstance on both sides”, Proctor said.

And the candidates’ supporters are split on what this means for the country, with most of Clinton’s supporters thinking it’s a good thing – 59% – and 78% of Trump’s supporters saying it would be bad.

The poll was conducted by Normington Petts, and surveyed 1,000 registered voters over landline and cell phones. It’s very gloom and doom, though, so score one for consistency.

The poll found 42 percent of people in the US back Clinton while 34 percent support Trump. “Hillary can’t afford to have him do this because public opinion would strongly shift against her”, Seth McKee, a political scientist at Texas Tech University, told The Hill.

“It will be a challenge”, said Mickey Kantor, a longtime Clinton supporter who chaired his 1992 campaign.

“So you have nothing to lose, one thing we know for sure is that if you keep voting for the same people, you will keep getting the same, exactly, the same result”.

Like the Greens, the Libertarian platform has some controversial clauses, including a pledge to legalize narcotics and make abortion strictly a matter of personal choice with no say from government.

The subcommittee also noted there are substantial costs associated with refugee resettlement that neither the administration nor Clinton have addressed.

There are only 80 days left until voters cast their ballots for the next President of the United States. However, if you don’t vote, you can’t complain. “We’re pushing that (message) very hard, very hard”, Proctor said.
