Liz Cheney won Wyoming’s GOP primary for the House of Representatives on Tuesday, all but assuring a win in November for the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney. His competitors include Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Her campaign focused on President Obama’s national security and energy policies, promising to work for the state’s struggling coal industry. Hardy has only raised $11,000 while Cheney gained $1.5 million.
Cheney’s apparent victory comes two years after she launched an unsuccessful bid for a U.S. Senate seat that saw her withdraw from the race early.
Greene is a manager in his family’s oilfield services company in Rock Springs. He is a political newcomer but says he’s held a variety of jobs in the oil patch.
Her brief campaign was also hurt by the bickering she engaged in on Facebook with her sister Mary, who is married to a woman, because of Liz’s vehement opposition to gay marriage, one of the issues on which she is more conservative than her father, who in 2009 announced his support for same-sex marriage provided that it was approved by the states.
Cheney took 40 percent of the vote. This caused her to drop out nearly immediately.
Liz Cheney first ran for office in 2014 against Wyoming Senator Mike Enzi, but she dropped out of that race before the primary, citing family health problems.
“Wyoming needs a strong voice in Congress to lead the effort to undo the devastating policies of the last seven and a half years and restore our freedom”.
Gilbert said he voted instead for Darin Smith, an attorney and Christian Broadcasting Network executive from Cheyenne. Many Democrats have criticized Cheney’s orchestration as vice president of the 2003 US invasion of Iraq, calling it a disastrous foreign policy decision. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) endorsed one of her challengers, state Sen.

Cheney posted a photo with her father along with a message to her supporters on her Twitter account. “The Cheneys, they’re definitely from here, they know Wyoming”.
