In another picture, the two are side-by-side kissing their medals – one of Simone’s five Rio Olympic medals and Mariano’s first at Rio for the men’s floor exercise. He even took to twitter to wish her good luck prior to the US Olympic Trials.
However, Biles could not make it five golds out of five, when she only (only!) took bronze in the balance beam.
He continued, “They won gold medals, they were crushing it the entire Olympics, and I was like hiding in a closet waiting to come in, so I didn’t know what to think”.
