“The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 will be the final story of the fantasy drama TV series. Julie Plec, in particular, has been very vocal in wanting Dobrev back to conclude the series the right way, stressing that the 27-year-old made her a promise that she wouldn’t miss being with the cast for the finale. It’s understandable given how Dobrev’s character, Elena Gilbert, is one of the main characters that is integral to the plot of the fantasy vampire drama.

Ian Somerhalder allegedly thinks that ending the final series is better without Nina Dobrev, a strong statement that has left TVD fans stunned and rather saddened.

In a separate report from Parent Herald, Ian Somerhalder disclosed his disapproval of the Delena moments as well. CW president Mark Pedowitz admitted that they backed up Julie Plec’s decision of bringing Nina Dobrev back in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8, Movie News Guide reported. The publication notes that Dobrev will be reprising her role as Elena on episode 16 of season 8. If ever Nina Dobrev returns, he wants her character to go on living without any memories of Damon or Stefan. Pedowitz disclosed that the “TVD” production and Dobrev are now in negotiations and he is hopeful that thing will turn out right. However, there are rumors suggesting that Dobrev may not return to “The Vampire Diaries” season eight since she may be avoiding any contact with Somerhalder, her former beau, who is now married to Nikki Reed.
