The crash happened on the New Jersey Turnpike in East Brunswick. Traffic is being diverted onto the vehicle lanes.
The right and center northbound lanes are shut down, according to NJ511.org. Only minor injuries were reported, according to the Associated Press, quoting the state police.
Simon Byrne, 47, was driving on the New Jersey Turnpike back from a two-day trip in DC with relatives from Australia on August 13 when two trucks exploded in front of him.
Last week, a dump truck crash on the turnpike in Linden sparked a fire and caused a miles-long traffic standstill that lasted several hours. He also said the drivers immediately jumped out and it appeared as though one of the drivers’ legs was on fire, as other motorists ran to his aid.
