PM Modi’s monogrammed suit enters Guinness Records as ‘most expensive suit sold’
After a controversy erupted over the Prime Minister wearing such a costly suit which had “Narendra Damodardas Modi” monogrammed as pinstripes, PM Modi made a decision to auction it and hand over the proceeds to the Namami Gange fund, a central government project to clean the river Ganga.

And now the latest news is coming out that “Modi Suit” has entered Guinness World Records for being the most expensive suit sold.
The monogrammed suit that was worn by PM Modi during his meeting with American President Barack Obama last year, was sold for Rs.43,131,311in an auction last year.
During the auction, the suit was displayed on a lookalike mannequin of Modi behind a glass case.
Businessman Ramesh Virani, who lives overseas, had claimed that he gifted the suit to PM Modi on his son’s wedding, which coincided with Obama’s visit on January 26 past year.
The suit which was worn by Modi during a meeting with President Barack Obama past year in New Delhi on January 25 met with a lot of controversy.
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi used the suit, whose fabric was claimed to have come from United Kingdom, to attack Modi over his “Make in India” campaign and to show how alienated he was from the poor to have worn a Rs 10 lakh attire. This event gave me a chance to do something in the interest of the nation.
The suit was gifted to Prime Minister Modi by an ardent fan, said others.
Laljibhai had then told the Indian Express that he was determined to buy the suit even if it exceeded Rs 5 crore.
