After an epic 32-year career, fans from across the country will be tuning in to watch what could be The Tragically Hip’s final performance, broadcast from Kingston on Saturday night.
CBC Music will offer a global broadcast of the concert at www.cbcmusic.ca and on CBC Music Apple and Android apps. Canadians won’t want to miss this unprecedented opportunity to witness the Kingston concert live in its entirety, as there will be no on demand or online streaming playback of the full event following the broadcast.
The event is for 19 years and older in accordance with music industry standards for performances at the Vancouver Playhouse.
There are about 200 approved community viewing parties being held across Canada.
The Tragically Hip is wildly popular in Canada and tickets to their current tour have sold out in minutes.
Earlier this summer, Mayor Gregor Robertson proclaimed July 26 “Tragically Hip Day” in Vancouver.
