Man United must return to their natural habitat – Mourinho

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has rowed back on his previous criticism of Paul Pogba’s world record transfer to Manchester United, describing it as a signing that “ticks all the boxes”.

Paul Pogba is finally a Manchester United player once again after completing a record breaking transfer from Juventus.

Pogba’s return to his old club United was confirmed in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with the French global costing a fee of 89 million pounds ($115.74 million) according to British media reports.

Arsene Wenger admits Paul Pogba’s transfer to Manchester United “ticks all the boxes”, but the Arsenal boss believes English clubs are forced to pay over the odds for players from overseas. “And, personally, one of my dreams is to win the Ballon d’Or”, he told MUTV.

“I can feel that when I speak with him for the first time”.

United lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in the Community Shield win over Leicester, a formation in which Pogba failed to impress during France’s Euro 2016 run to the final.

Wenger believes Pogba’s world-record transfer is a fair reflection of the current transfer market – where English clubs are forced to pay more for players than their European counterparts.

After making seven appearances for Man U back in 2012 season, Pogba seems eager to get on the field under new coach Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was also thrilled to get his man, and said that Pogba can become “the heart of the club for the next decade and beyond”. I don’t think it is a reason to be sad.

‘We have people like [Morgan] Schneiderlin and [Ander] Herrera also – players with experience in the Premier League but after that we have No 10’s. I want to do great, I want to be one of the best.
