Amy Schumer Condemns ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ Writer Kurt Metzger: ‘He’s the Problem’

Schumer sent many of her Twitter followers into a tailspin when she responded to users outraged by a recent string of misogynistic posts by one of Inside Amy’s writers, Kurt Metzger. “We butt heads, we get in fights because he infuriates us”. She also commented on Metzeger’s rants and pointed out that his views do not represent her or the show.

Schumer tweeted she was “slated for a season 5” but indicated that wouldn’t happen anytime soon.

Metzger, who is credited on 30 episodes of Inside Amy Schumer, wrote a Facebook post earlier this week criticizing women who claim to have been raped but who wait to report the crime to police and/or can not provide physical evidence. This, eventually, got linked back to Schumer, who was staying unusually silent on the matter, going so far as to block Twitter users who asked her about it. Because he writes for the show, it’s a bigger story because of our connection and so whatever tangent he’s gone off on I have not agreed with. “And what’s consensual and what’s not”.

Inside Amy Schumer will return for a fifth season, but after that, its future is undecided, the show’s star Amy Schumer confirmed in a series of tweets Thursday. “So nobody’s on my staff, there are no writers”.

A tweet she wrote distancing herself from Metzger, who has written for and acted in her sketch comedy, then was interpreted that Inside Amy Schumer was kaput. With friends like these…. “I want them to not attach me to what he’s writing“. Metzger criticized the ban, and seemed as well to criticize alleged sex assault victims who don’t go to the police. He baits people, he’s the problem. I think people, you know, they want his head.

But rather than dwell on another person’s words, Schumer said the focus to should turn to the real issue: sexual assault.

“We all need to be empowering each other”, Schumer said, “but to focus your energy on online trolling-if I did that, I wouldn’t get anything done”. She pointed out that everyone should focus on getting the problem done because she was sexually assaulted and she encourages women to come out. He isn’t a writer for my show because we aren’t making the show anymore. She recently canceled a Saturday appearance on her book tour in Naperville, Ill., with a rep for Simon and Schuster saying that she was not feeling well.
