Abandon ship: Nervous Republicans implore RNC to cut funding to Trump

And new swing state poll numbers from NBC, The Wall Street Journal and Marist show Trump lagging behind Clinton in four crucial swing states: Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia.

A draft of the letter, obtained by various USA news organizations, warns that the Republican presidential candidate’s “divisiveness, recklessness, incompetence and record-breaking unpopularity risk turning this election into a Democratic landslide”.

Trump issued the warning on Fox News’ “O’Reilly Factor”, in response to a question about Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus reportedly threatening to pull back party funds and reallocate them to other races.

Last week 70 Republicans wrote a letter urging the RNC to stop helping Trump and to focus instead on candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

She said those balking at his missteps were being “too sensitive” – a luxury the nation can’t afford with growing security threats.

Trump remains a controversial candidate in Israel.

Pence nonetheless defended Trump’s comments by saying Obama and Hillary Clinton’s policies led to the jihadist group’s rise.
