So, in honor of SmackDown Live, let’s go all killer no filler and dive into the last show before The One Show That Is Big But Not WrestleMania Big. That’s huge, and it should only get better after the PPV, when the show has more time to hone in on its identity without the pressure of building to the second biggest PPV of the year.

Even with Bray Wyatt present at the Smackdown ring, Rowan faced an uphill battle against the current WWE Champion Dean Ambrose.
After detouring through Wyatt Country for a few weeks, Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler’s WWE Heavyweight Championship feud seems to be back on track. The authority figures are nearly heels at this point for not giving him a contract. 1 promo with Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler. Styles is a little jealous that ADR gets to smack him around. Miz is quickly silenced so that Ambrose and Ziggler can get serious. We asked Styles which pro wrestling finishing move is the most painful to the recipient.
With Ambrose hanging onto every last word like the rest of the crowd, he doesn’t notice that Ziggler’s taken a half-step back in the midst of his screams and gesticulations – and in the time it takes Ambrose to blink, Ziggler snaps off a vicious superkick to lay Ambrose out. I chose to look at it positively, thinking of it as an opportunity for other women to feature more.
First of all, we have to factor in the clash between John Cena and AJ Styles at a major pay-per-view.

After the bell, AJ attacks with the Phenomenal forearm. However, that wasn’t enough as Cena played possum and eventually got the upper hand and hit the Attitude Adjustment through the announce table. Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton is another highly anticipated match. What could they have done if WWE put them on at SummerSlam?
Add to that some star power with Brooklyn’s own and former “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart making an appearance. Since Smackdown Live does not currently have a Woman’s title, this makes sense for them to fight right now. Styles needs to win this match, really badly. But WWE has made it believable that Orton could win with an RKO, and he could do so if another wrestler interferes to distract Lesnar. Then the next night, at SummerSlam, she and Charlotte wrestled as part of a rather unceremonious triple team “Divas Revolution” match that pretty much represented the exact opposite of how these ladies, or any women, should be used in pro wrestling. Slater said he watched a replay of last week’s SmackDown and saw that Bryan and Shane were going to offer him a contract.
Does this mean Slater is on SmackDown now? That bodes well for Naomi in the future. Lo and behold, another “mishap” would prevent Eva Marie from wrestling Tuesday night – that awful Austin, Texas traffic. When you’re taking it from a guy who’s 7-foot-tall, well, it is what it is. I need to know who he is pronto. The tag team champions?

· All of the tag teams – at least the ones getting television time – appeared in a 12-man tag team match with American Alpha teaming with the Usos and Hype Bros to take on Breezano, The Vaudevillains and The Ascension. With its roster the healthiest it has been in a year, the card it stacked with big-name talent and must-see matches. Sometimes WWE forgets that all of these superstars, no matter their face or heel alignments, are competing for top spots and championships, and that they can embody more than one motivation or emotion at once.
