Former President Bill Clinton turned 70 on Friday, August 19, 2016 and his daughter, Chelsea Clinton, shared a picture of the present that his 1-year-old granddaughter, Charlotte Mezvinsky, got for her “Poppop”.

If there’s one scandal – aside from emails – that has been troubling Hillary’s presidential campaign it’s claims about the Clinton Foundation’s shady deals. But questions persist about the level of influence foundation donors had at the State Department.

The Associated Press reported that Bill Clinton made the announcement to staff during a meting yesterday.

A formal announcement from the Clinton Foundation was forthcoming.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus called the move “too little, too late”.

The Clinton Foundation announced Thursday that it would no longer accept donations from corporations or foreign entities if Hillary Clinton is elected president.

Last year, under pressure for its dealings with donors outside the United States, the Clinton Foundation said it would curb new contributions from foreign governments, but it did not discontinue fundraising from foreign individuals, corporations or charities.

Last fall, the foundation filed amended tax returns for the years 2010 through 2013 because of possible errors in reporting contributions from foreign governments.

Some of the group’s funding has come from foreign donations and political donors to the Clinton family.

Bill will also resign from the foundation board, and Chelsea will stop raising money for it. “Even if they’ve done nothing illegal, the foundation will always look too much like a conflict of interest for comfort”.

Clinton has improved her trust ratings recently, but 59 percent of Americans still say she is not honest and trustworthy, compared with 62 percent who say the same about Trump, according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll this month. Based on her record, it is safe to suggest this new promise as a reaction to recent Clinton Foundation revelations and sharp criticism from the editorial board of a major newspaper publication, is virtually meaningless.

The public has heard quite a bit about The Clinton Foundation, founded by Bill Clinton and 1997 after he left the White House, and the perception is generally negative when compared with other well-known charities.

“They’re low-class grifters and gifters at every turn, whether it’s the money they make giving speeches, whether it’s the pay-for-play at the State Department, whether it’s what you just showed, which is they actually have the audacity to release a statement saying if she’s elected, if we win, we’ll actually do the right thing”, she told Fox News on Thursday.
