Muhammad won bronze at London 2012 and will look to go one better and he moved into a decivie lead in the second round of his semi-final and held his advantage.
His quarter-final clash was much tougher as he drew veteran American Steven Lopez, victor of the gold medals in 2000 and 2004, but Muhammad again impressed in claiming a 9-2 win.
Fellow Brit Aaron Cook suffered a shock 14-2 defeat to Wei-Ting Liu earlier today.
