RIO DE JANEIRO: Usain Bolt drew down the curtain on his brilliant Olympic career by securing a sweep of the sprint titles for a third successive Games when Jamaica successfully defended the 4×100 metres relay crown on Friday.

The world’s fastest man cemented his legacy as the greatest Olympic sprinter of all time, and arguably the greatest Olympian period, by leading Jamaica to a gold medal in the men’s 4×100 meter relay.
Usain Bolt stormed to an unprecedented “triple triple” of Olympic golds at the Rio Games on Friday, promptly declaring himself “the greatest”. “The pressure is real”. I’m not 26 any more, I’m not 21! “I’ve proven to the world I’m the greatest in the sport, so it’s mission accomplished pretty much”.
Bolt holds the 100- and 200-meter world records, has been to four Olympics and has nine gold medals to his name.
“If anything”, Eaton said, referring to Bolt, “he has provided a platform for all the other young aspiring athletes to launch from”, adding, “In the years to come, I think we’ll see a lot of athletes who were inspired by Usain Bolt”.
His record in Olympic finals improved to nine victories over nine events.
“I know he’ll settle down because he has said it”.
The triathlon at the Rio Olympics consists of a one-loop ocean swim, a steep 24-mile bike ride and a 6.2-mile run.
The United States originally finished third but were disqualified for an illegal baton change. Kylie Neushel led the attack with three goals for the USA, while Rachel Fattal and Mackenzie Fischer scored two each.
Friday’s triumph was potentially the most awkward, with Bolt’s gold medal hopes reliant on the performances of his team-mates.
