Belgian worldwide striker Christian Benteke became Crystal Palace´s record signing on Saturday as the Premier League club paid £27million (31m euros, $35m) with add ons to end his unhappy spell at rivals Liverpool.

The 25-year-old is Palace’s fourth signing of the summer after Andros Townsend, James Tomkins and Steve Mandanda.
“I don’t want to talk too much about it [the prospective Benteke transfer] because the deal is not complete yet”, Pardew added.
The Eagles confirmed the capture of the 25-year-old Belgium global after the clubs agreed a fee of an initial £27m plus add-ons.
Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Christian Benteke from Liverpool, the London club announced on Saturday.
“We’re the top crossing team in the Premier League bar one, I think, so he’ll enjoy that with the wide players we have”.
The last 12 months has been a hard time in the 26-time capped striker’s career after his move to Liverpool didn’t quite work out, but now he knows that Selhurst Park will be his new home for the foreseeable future he is keen to get up to speed as quickly as possible and continue to be a menace for opposition defences. We just couldn’t get that goal.
Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew confirmed the agreement on Friday while fielding questions in a pre-match conference ahead of Palace’s Premiership game with Tottenham Hotspur.
When it comes to the forward, it’s not his finishing that saw him marginalised by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.
“We have to build a squad where everybody has a perspective to play”, Klopp said.
Benteke definitely hadn’t signed for Burnley, who incidentally hosted Liverpool at Turf Moor on Saturday.
After 13 months at Liverpool as the club’s second highest transfer in the club’s history, Benteke will move on.
