Simone Biles remained golden at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Douglas was the reigning Gold medalist in the Individual All-Around (she took it in the 2012 London games) and was not able to compete because there’s a rule that only two per country can advance-and she came in third behind teammates Biles and Raisman.

The U.S.’ Simone Biles, who has gone undefeated in the all-around since 2013 and has won three consecutive all-around titles at the world championships, became the 2016 Rio Olympic all-around champion after a hard-fought competition. The Texas native took home the gold for the women’s individual all-around on Thursday, August 11, gaining her fans far and wide.

After her win, Simone Biles told ESPN she was “more proud of Aly getting silver than [her] gold”. Simone Biles springing into action. So, surprisingly, is Great Britain’s.

She scored 62.198 to win her second Olympic medal by a margin of more than two points.

“Every emotion hit me at once so I was just kind of a train wreck”, Biles said after scooping a second gold in Rio following her success in the team final on Tuesday.

Maria Paseka, the 2015 world champion, was second with 15.253 points followed by Giulia Steingruber of Switzerland with 15.216. Her signature flip aptly named the Biles.

Teammate Aly Raisman talked about how Biles’ supreme talent made her stand out, per Linda Robertson of the Miami Herald: “When the coaches talk to us they say don’t even count Simone, she’s in a different league”.

Well, OK, I guess that’s not quite accurate, considering she won the world championship three straight years in a row leading up to this Olympics, and we didn’t really care.

Dipa Karmakar is the first Indian woman to compete in Olympic gymnastics and the first Indian gymnast to qualify for an individual event final. And at only 19 years old, it’s likely she will only get better!

Congratulations are in order: To Fiji, who just won its first-ever Olympic medal, a gold, in rugby. Whitlock’s score of 15.633 was just enough to edge Hypolito, who finished with a 15.533.
