10 dead, over 200 hurt in Turkey car bombings
A auto bombing in Van province late Wednesday killed a police officer and two civilians and wounded at least 73 people, the Associated Press reported.

Soldiers, medics, rescue teams and officials work at the blast scene where two officers and one civilian were killed when a vehicle bomb exploded outside a police station near the southeastern city of Diyarbakir, Turkey.
Cars loaded with bombs attacked the Turkish province of Van and the city of Elazig late Wednesday and early Thursday respectively.
He said that the three killed were all civilians while two of the 40 wounded were police.
The government of Turkey is blaming the attack on the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party and has banned all news reports about the attack.
Turkish authorities detained 29 inspectors on Friday from the BDDK banking watchdog for “irregular inspections”, broadcaster NTV and other media reported, in what appeared to be the latest round-up related to the failed July 15 coup.
