Amy Schumer says her show is on hold, not canceled
This, eventually, got linked back to Schumer, who was staying unusually silent on the matter, going so far as to block Twitter users who asked her about it. Her publisher Simon & Schuster cancelled the event, slated to be held at North Central College, Thursday morning.

Comedy Central renewed Inside Amy Schumer for a fifth season in January.
Metzger drew ire when commenting on a sexual abuse scandal in which comedian Aaron Glaser was accused of rape in a private Facebook group for female comedians. As Metzger’s Facebook and Twitter comments grew more inflammatory, social media users began to call on Schumer, a vocal feminist who has worked with Metzger on her show Inside Amy Schumer for years.
On Wednesday, the amusing lady wasn’t laughing when she criticized previous Inside Amy Schumer contributor Kurt Metzger for the controversial comments he made on Facebook about sexual assault. “He is a friend and a great writer and I couldn’t be more against his recent actions”. At the time, Schumer said in a statement, “We are so excited to get picked up”. “I would love to refocus the energy and the attention on the real problem”, she continued.
And now she’s talking about the controversy in more detail with Charlie Rose, and why she thinks people should be more focused on the larger issue: the alleged rape.
“I did not fire Kurt…”
Amy Schumer sent fans into a tizzy Wednesday night with a tweet implying that her Comedy Central show Inside Amy Schumer has ended.
“There are no writers for it”, Schumer tweeted to fans who questioned whether or not Metzger wrote for “Inside Amy Schumer”. “I love him. I’m not on Facebook, so I don’t read his insane rants”. Like, he just gets something from going after people, making them mad.
Schumer told Rose that even she butt heads with Metzger in the writers’ room. “That is not representative of me at all”. She said that Metzeger has such a different perspective, which makes him an asset to the show. “They want to burn him at the stake”.
