Ryan Lochte says ‘immature behaviour’ got him into a mess

“That is when they started saying, ‘No police”.

“It’s how you want to make it look like”, he said, according to the interview.

But almost as soon as his story came out, an American swimmer gave a different account in a detailed statement, saying two guns were pointed at the athletes as the event unfolded.

“We just wanted to get out of there”, Lochte said, adding that the swimmers were frightened. There was a a gun pointed at our direction.

Lochte said after his loss in the 200 Individual Medley won by Michael Phelps that he might be back which begs the question, will the U.S. Olympic Committee allow him to try again in four years?

“I overexagerrated that story. All I know is that there was a gun was pointed at us and we were demanded to give money”, Lochte responded. I refused, I was like we didn’t do anything wrong, so – I’m not getting down on the ground.

And then the guy pulled out his gun, he cocked it, put it to my forehead and he said, ‘Get down, ‘ and I put my hands up, I was like ‘whatever.’ He took our money, he took my wallet – he left my cellphone, he left my credentials.

The Dirty Harry scenario described above wasn’t exactly how things panned out evidently.

Details soon emerged that the accounts of the swimmers lacked consistencies.

Lochte made it back to the States before a Brazilian judged ordered the seizing of his passport, and a couple of his teammates were removed from their plane home so they could meet with officials and provide their testimonies of the incident, which conflicted with Lochte’s. However, that turned out to be untrue, with his teammate Gunnar Bentz actually admitting that he and his teammates were detained by security guards during a night out and ordered to pay a fine, after they had urinated in public, with Lochte also vandalizing a petrol station and behaving aggressively towards the guards. The other guard stood by but did nothing, Deluz says. Gunnar Bentz, who returned to the USA on Friday, described two guns being drawn.
