Indians’ Tyler Naquin hits walk-off inside-the-park homer
In fact, the last time this happened for the Indians was nearly 100 years ago when when Braggo Roth beat the St. Louis Browns with a walk-off, inside-the-park homer in League Park on August 13th, 1916 according to ESPN Stats and Info.

Jedd Gyorko hit a tying, two-run homer with one out in the ninth. “It’s probably the best scenario possible, for sure”. “A young guy like Dev, he’s still feeling his way around”. “Good pitching, good crowd excitement, good baseball”. The Jays have now had sole possession of first in the AL East for the past 11 days.
With defending AL MVP Josh Donaldson sidelined with a sore right thumb, first baseman Edwin Encarnacion stepped up and showed off his own credentials for MVP consideration this year. Tyler Naquin’s game-ending, inside-the-park home run gave Cleveland a 2-1 win Friday.
Joe Biagini (4-2, 1.97 ERA), Joaquin Benoit, Jason Grilli and Roberto Osuna allowed only two hits in the final five innings.
Stroman’s last start against the Indians came on July 1, in that epic 19-inning game won by the Indians 2-1. He hit a walk-off sacrifice fly on Thursday, and while he didn’t start Friday’s game, he found a way to impact the game in the ninth.
The Indians and Blue Jays both lead their respective divisions.
Christian Yelich and Miguel Rojas also each had three hits and a homer to help the Marlins win for the third time in nine games. It would have had a chance to be a double play but then it uravelled. “When you don’t make plays, the game punishes you”. “That’s the lovely part of the game for sure”. I was happy I got a chance to do it again (in the eighth).
“That’s who he is, that’s what he means to us”, Texas manager Jeff Banister said.
Baltimore dropped a game behind Boston after being heavily beaten by Houston despite scoring four home runs in the first inning. While that performance came at Rogers Centre, the 24-year-old has made himself at home on the road with a stellar 7-1 mark to go along with a 2.40 ERA and 1.10 WHIP while limiting the opposition to a.225 batting average.
His mood – and the game – changed dramatically just minutes later.
Ryan Goins followed with a loud double off the base of the wall in right, putting runners at second and third for Travis. Jose Martinez charged in and attempted a do-or-die barehand grab on the run. Barney easily scored, and with the ball trickling away behind Ramirez, Goins turned for home and scored as well.
In the third inning, the Jays continued to exact revenge for the tough walk-off loss the previous night.
When we finally got to our seats, we were surrounded by Blue Jays fans-literally.
Blue Jays: RHP Aaron Sanchez will start for the first time since August 13 against Houston as the team attempts to limit his innings. Things changed dramatically when the Indians scored five times in the fourth, three of the runs coming on a Lonnie Chisenhall homer.
REDS 9, DODGERS 2: Joey Votto hit a three-run homer, relief pitcher Michael Lorenzen also hit a three-run shot, and Cincinnati beat Los Angelesnight to snap a nine-game losing streak against the Dodgers.

After consecutive nights of wild comebacks and walk-off victories, the Indians (70-51) found some magic in the fourth, still trailing by five against starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez.
