It’s not exactly a surprise that McGregor would get winded, considering he had to beef up to 170 pounds for the welterweight fight.

“Surprise surprise m************ The King is back, “Conor celebrated”. “If now you want this trilogy, it will be on my terms”.

These two incredible athletes went back and forth during their matches and it was fairly even throughout the beginning rounds, but McGregor pulled away for the victory.

After the win Conor’s coach John Kavanagh shared a photo on his Twitter account, writing: “We did it”.

“I’ve broken many faces in my time”.

It’s also important to note that McGregor took his camp for UFC 202 very seriously, and that’s one of the reasons why the fight didn’t happen at UFC 200.

A cagey final round saw both men find success at range and in the clinch, before Diaz snatched it with a late takedown.

The 28-year-old had started the fight executing the same game plan that many people thought he needed to overcome the rangy and durable Diaz.

Diaz’s endurance was the difference in the first fight. “I gave him number two”.

The Irishman was shocked by Californian Diaz’s second-round rear-naked choke in their welterweight bout in March, and ever since he has sworn revenge, with the rivals resorting to throwing water bottles at each other during a pre-fight press conference in Las Vegas this week. McGregor did not end up retiring, but UFC did drop him from the card.
