Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, left, and Leicester City’s Andy King battle for the ball during their English Premier League soccer match at the King Power Stadium, Leicester, England, Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016. There is another problem – Ranieri must configure the players again. Find out by following our live matchcast.

It is easy to get carried away about one defeat, but both Leicester and Arsenal will have felt pretty down in the dumps last weekend.

Quite how Vardy’s choice was received by Wenger remains a mystery, although the Arsenal manager hinted this week there would be a story to tell in his next book as his side prepare to meet Leicester on Saturday afternoon.

“We tried, but we were second-best”, Morgan reportedly said.

Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table last season after hoisting themselves above Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the season.

One match is nowhere near a large enough sample size to make definitive judgements about any team’s chances over a 38-game period, but the early signs at the Emirates are not particularly encouraging.

We can sit deeper and be more compact and defensively minded, while Ranieri’s team will have to be more proative instead of soaking up pressure before launching a Vardy led counter attack. Of course they have not played any games for a while, so I have to be selective and I can not go for the three because that would be too risky.

“It’s important because last season we achieved the best thing we could in England”.

Koscielny was restored to the team before the scheduled end of his proscribed period of post-Euro 2016 rest to bolster Arsenal’s defence but Wenger’s men spent much of the opening stages on the front foot, with full debutant Granit Xhaka and Francis Coquelin controlling midfield as Hector Bellerin and Theo Walcott threatened down the right. We are strong and we believe. We were shocking at the back last week but Koscielny’s return will be a huge boost and I think we’ll come away with a hard fought point. We watched the game, analysed it and then we go through it with the players.

The PFA Player of the Year ended months of speculation over his future this week by putting pen to paper on the new contract – because he wanted to keep the “amazing” City squad together. I made a mistake.
