DNR confirms that structures are threatened at the fire and a Type 3 Incident Management Team has been requested to fight the fire.
Investigators said they do not yet have further information on the plane crash or other injuries and deaths.
Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers told NBC-TV affiliate Q7 that deputies have confirmed wreckage at the site and that at least one person died in the crash.
People are asked to stay clear of the area about five miles east of Oroville.
“The plane was destroyed in the fire, so there were no numbers left to get a positive ID on the aircraft”, he said.
A Red Cross Shelter has been set up at Oroville High School for those evacuated because of this fire.
Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the wreckage of a small aircraft found in north-central Washington by crews responding to wildfires in the area. The wreckage was found on Rise Road off Chesaw Road.

“We have several units in the area and at the scene attempting to determine exactly what has happened”, Rogers stated.
