Conway says Trump apology ‘was all Donald Trump’
Targeting the controversial Republican presidential nominee over the resignation of chairman of Trump campaign Paul Manafort, rival Clinton Campaign has claimed that the move was a “clear admission of the connection” between Donald Trump and the “pro-Kremlin elements” in Russian Federation and Ukraine.

“Corey Lewandowski on Friday said that Paul Manafort’s resignation illustrates that the Republican nominee will do anything he can to get his campaign on track and win”.
Since then, the campaign has suffered from a string of Trump gaffes and, more recently, a drip-feed of damaging stories about Manafort’s ties to Russian-backed former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych and a corruption investigation in the country. “Paul is a true professional and I wish him the greatest success”.
On Wednesday, he appeared to sideline Manafort further in appointing a right-wing news executive, Stephen Bannon, as campaign CEO and promoting veteran pollster Kellyanne Conway to campaign manager.
The bureau said, however, that it can not prove that Manafort actually received the money because other people including a prominent Party of the Regions deputy signed for him in those entries.
That, coupled with Trump’s reported unhappiness with leaks from inside his campaign team and his complaints about being boxed in by Manafort, along with his sinking poll numbers against Hillary Clinton, were enough to spell the end of their relationship.
Conway was named Trump’s new campaign manager as part of a staff shakeup earlier this week.
Trump also was not pleased with ongoing revelations about Manafort’s past lobbying for the formerly pro-Russian government in Ukraine, said a source familiar with the situation. “If African-American voters give Donald Trump a chance by giving me their vote, the result for them will be fantastic”, the Republican presidential nominee said during a rally at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“You live in your poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed – what the hell do you have to lose?” he said, adding a bold prediction: “At the end of four years, I will get over 95 percent of the African-American vote”.
But it seems it was an appointment that both Trump and Manafort came to regret.
Trump, who has been accused of offending Mexicans, Muslims, immigrants, the disabled and fellow Republicans such as John McCain during his 14-month presidential campaign did not specify which comments he regretted and said at one point that journalists have often taken him “out of context”.
The document was found by investigators from Ukraine’s newly formed National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
In the month after the Republican convention, Trump could not steer clear of controversy.

Trump also made a second direct pitch to African American voters this week, saying they had been betrayed by the Democrats in a speech well received by his audience at his Thursday rally in North Carolina.
